Electrically power-assisted cycle requirements:
An electrically power-assisted bicycle has a maximum continued rated power of 500 watts. This power output must be:
(i) progressively reduced as the bicycle’s speed increases beyond 6km/h
(ii) cut off when:
– the bicycle reaches a speed of 25km/h
– the rider stops pedalling and the speed exceeds 6km/h.
All Fatboy Bikes models have a maximum continued rated power of 500 watts at 25km/h with a max load of 180kg. In the opinion of Fatboy Bikes this is inline with NSW EPAC legislation. Before using this vehicle, check the applicable local laws relating to your intended use of the vehicle on roads and road related areas.
The electric motor should not assist the rider when travelling more than 25km/h but does not prevent the rider travelling faster with their own pedalling or going downhill. When using your ebike on private property, the bike can be unlocked to reach up to 55-60km/h.
The Fatboy Bikes are weight rated for up to 180kgs.
